Creating your Group
It's real easy to create your GupShup group in two simple steps. You can instantly start posting or inviting friends to join your group.
Step 1: Registering your mobile
Simply log on to www.gupshup.me and register your mobile number.
Step 2: Creating profile
Name your group; enter personal details and short group description.
Making a Group post
On your My GupShup page just type your post with 140 characters or less and click Post. Your friends and group members will get this instantly.
Joining other Groups
Looking to join more groups? Go to our Explore page and click Join to receive posts of group you join.

Here's a list of commands that can help you use GupShup from your mobile phone. All messages/commands should be sent to 09219592195.
Basic Commands
CREATE - Start a GupShup group
Format: CREATE GroupName
Example: CREATE MovieReview (5-15 character, only alphabets, numbers and underscores)

JOIN - Join a GupShup group
Format: JOIN GroupName
Example: JOIN CrickInfo (Type the group name you want to join)

INVITE - Invite friends to your group

Example: INVITE 98XXXXXXXX 92XXXXXXXX (Type the mobile numbers of friends you want to invite)

POST - Post a message to your group
Format: Message text

LEAVE - Unsubscribe from a GupShup group
Format: LEAVE GroupName
Example: LEAVE CricInfo (Type name of the group you want to leave)

SWITCH - Change default group
Format: SWITCH GroupName
Example: SWITCH MovieReview (Type name of the group you want to set as default group)

MUTE - Pause GupShup messages for few hours

UNMUTE - Restart GupShup messages

BLOCK - Block to stop receiving GupShup messages

REMOVE - Remove a user subscription from your group

SHARE - Share the latest post of a group with friends
Format: SHARE GroupName MobileNumber

MSG - Send a personal message to a GupShup group owner
Format: MSG GroupName
Example: MSG CricInfo (Type the message and group name)

GupShup enables you to create your group, invite friends and send messages to their mobile phones.
Here are some guidelines that you should follow when you use GupShup social messaging services:

Permission Based Invites Only: You are advised to add only those members to your groups who you know personally or those who have given you their permission.
No Spam: Do not send any spam or unsolicited message to promote any commercial transaction in relation to any goods, investments or services to any member of the GupShup community.
No Objectionable Content: Do not send messages with hate speech, inappropriate or obscene content that may offend your members or violate GupShup Terms of Service
No Commercial Use: Do not post any unauthorized advertisements, promotions, offers or discounts in messages
No Communication of GupShup Policies: Do not post any message related to SMS GupShup policies in an unauthorized manner
No Copyrighted Material: Do not use copyrighted material (name, image, logo, etc.) without necessary authorization

A few tips for using GupShup
- Be mindful of time and frequency of your group messages.
- It's good practice to call up your friends and inform them about your GupShup group before you add them to your group.
- Please do not post at inappropriate hours; before 7am or after 10pm.
- Please do not send invites to a random collection of phone numbers.
- Please have a nickname that will help the receiver of your group messages identify you.
- Do not post abusive or offensive content.
- Be mindful of others privacy concerns.
